Although Nassau County as a whole may seem prosperous, wealth and wellbeing are unevenly distributed among its communities. This disparity is particularly pronounced when comparing Freeport, Hempstead, and Roosevelt—three communities with higher proportions of minorities, a younger population in need, and lower socioeconomic status—to the rest of the county.
